Do you want to develop the future's bio-based processes and contribute to sustainable solutions in chemical analysis? Here you will work in an environment where innovation, laboratory work, and knowledge sharing go hand in hand.

About us RISE Processum is part of RISE and a central player in the development of bio-based processes and products. In our research environment in Örnsköldsvik, we work closely with industry and other research actors in one of Sweden's strongest clusters in biotechnology and biorefinery.

The Biotechnology Group drives a growing number of projects focusing on bioprocesses, chemical and biotechnical analysis, method development, and sustainable materials. With us, you will be offered a dynamic and competence-rich environment where we work together to create solutions for the future.

About the role As a Research and Development Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining our analytical instruments and ensuring that procedures are kept up to date. You will work closely with researchers and R&D engineers and become a natural part of the daily laboratory work with a focus on chemical analysis.

In this role, you are expected to contribute to increased quality in the chemical analyses performed at RISE Processum AB, as well as to strengthen and broaden the general knowledge of chemical analysis among the staff in the Chemistry and Biotechnology Group.

Your tasks will include:

• Training staff on the operation and use of analytical instruments.

• Performing analyses within research projects related to chemistry and biotechnology.

• Developing analytical methods within the framework of research projects related to chemistry and biotechnology.

• Supporting existing staff and performing interpretation of analysis results.

• General problem-solving in chemical analysis.

The work primarily involves internal contacts, especially with researchers and other R&D engineers. Travel may occur within research projects, and in the long term, there is an opportunity to participate in customer dialogues as well. The role evolves from being an obvious part of the laboratory routine to being able to contribute to concept development and new research initiatives in the long run.

The position is permanent at 50%. The placement for the position is Örnsköldsvik.

Who are you? You easily adapt to changing project conditions and see opportunities where others see obstacles. A natural willingness to help, combined with a creative and solution-oriented approach to research questions, makes you a person that others like to turn to. You enjoy switching between practical laboratory work, problem-solving, guidance, and presenting results.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field

• At least 10 years of experience in research-related chemical analyses

• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

• Experience working in publicly funded projects

Our offer We offer a workplace with strong development potential and a growing portfolio of research projects. With us, you will have a varied and developing job, close to advanced instrumentation and engaged colleagues. You will be part of an organization that values curiosity, competence development, and long-term thinking, where your expertise makes a real difference for the sustainable processes of the future.
